Now, the presonus audio interfaces were always famous for having crap low latency performance, and requiring larger than usual ASIO buffer sizes before they would work properly, but regardless of that, if you aren't using a TI based firewire card, you'll have problems. Installed a TI firewire card, and it not only worked, but worked at very low buffer sizes without any issues. Did some googling about the Saffire Pro 40 and windows 10, and found focusrite saying "if you have a VIA firewire adapter this just ain't gunna work". Upgraded to windows 10, and it wouldn't work at all. Under windows XP it was unreliable and had crap latency performance. I just upgraded a DAW system using a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. If lots of people are having reaper issues that are fixed with a restart, then I'd suggest they have more basic issues along the lines you you were thinking. I think you had it right with the "it's not a TI firewire interface" idea. issues that are intermittent and often solved by recycling power. It seems like a lot of people are having issues with Reaper. I wonder if I ought to install a Firewire 400 card, instead of the Firewire/USB combo that was installed on my computer? Then, while using Reafir plugin, it stopped again. ![]() I should say that, after about 3 or 4 power up cycles, it finally worked.
